Dornier Compact Sigma

Quick Contact

The Dornier Compact Sigma is a modular lithotripter, combined with a multi-functional patient table and X-ray C-arm. The machine when combined with other utilities such as ultrasound, lasers, scopes, etc. becomes a multifunctional workstation.

Features, Advantages and Benefits

Feature Advantages Benefits
Dornier Electromagnetic Shock Wave Emitter (EMSE) technology
The Electromagnetic Shock Wave Emitter delivers consistent, reliable energy, that has high depth penetration with wide dynamic range.
Consistent and reliable energy delivery results in shorter treatment times, low re-treatment rates, and minimal/no side effects. 150 mm penetration allows treatment of larger group of patients with relatively larger skin to stone distance
Flexible Therapy Head
The flexible thearpy head facilitates administration of shockwaves from "above the table" and "below the table" postions.
All treatments including renal and ureteric, are performed in comfortable supine position.
Isocentric Design
Because of the isocentric design, the shockwave and the imaging system can revolve around a single point, facilitating precise alignment of the targeting system and the shockwave focus at all times. The scanning plane constantly passes through the focal spot as the X-ray and ultrasound imaging angles change allowing for continuous visibility. The projection angles of the X-ray localization and the ultrasound windows can be varied over a wide range for optimal imaging, without losing the relationship to the therapy focus
The isocentric design facilitates precise target location, even under difficult conditions.
Laser-guided Alignment
The Compact Sigma is equipped with QuickLinx™, the optical position control, that helps in proper alignment between the C-arm and Compact Sigma. Mounted on top of the therapy arm, the laser aiming device has three manually adjustable beams, that can be regulated with the touch of a button.
The alignment is laser-guided and enhance ensures precise delivery of shockwaves resulting in positive treatment outcome.
Dual-mode Imaging
The simultaneous use of X-ray and ultrasound can be used for stones that are not clearly seen with ultrasound alone. X-ray localization allows instant positioning while ultrasound provides real time information about respiration and disintegration.
Dual-mode imaging facilitates accurate location of the renal stones for precise treatment.
Integrated Ultrasound
Dornier Compact Sigma is equipped with integrated ultrasound technology. Patented isocentric outline ultrasound arm allows the shockwave and ultrasound to remain independent with each other.
Isocentric outline ultrasound arm offers optimal image quality as the transducer is always in direct contact with the skin while providing flexible adjustment of the scanning plane for an optimal scanning window avoiding rib shadows and bowel gas.
