Polaris Loop is a dual durometer ureteral stent designed to reduce the severity of stent discomfort by minimizing stent material in the bladder. The loop stent offers a better pain profile and treatment outcome compared with the conventional stents.

Features, Advantages and Benefits

The following modern and innovative features make Polaris Loop ureteral stent the most preferred device for urologic procedures.

Feature Advantages Benefits
New bladder-loop design
The unique bladder-loop design offers 70% less material in the bladder than the traditional stents. During clinical trials, the loop stents showed easy removal compared to the standard double pigtail stents.
The new bladder loop design facilitates ease of access through the ureteral orifice and also smooth navigation through tight strictures. Easy removal of the stent also reduce the risk of trauma and patient discomfort post-procedure.
Columnar strength and structural integrity
The low profile and large inner lumen feature of Polaris Loop stent is due to the columnar strength and structural integrity of Percuflex material. This 5Fr diameter version stent can be easily passed over a 0.038” guidewire offering maximum urine flow.
This unique feature boosts the drainage and ensures normal flow of urine from the kidney to the bladder. The 5Fr diameter stent also offers a higher spontaneous dislodgement rate than the ordinary stents.
Percuflex material with radio opaque filler
The Polaris Loop stent is made of a biocompatible synthetic polymer with a radio opaque filler. This provides resistance to migration and fragmentation of the stent and makes it kink-resistant.
The Percuflex material with radio opaque filler makes the loop stent firm, soft and radio opaque to meet the challenges of long-term ureteral stenting.
HydroPlus Hydrophilic Coating
A Hydroplus coating over this Percuflex layer of loop stent acts as an ideal interface between the stent and the epithelial layer of the ureter. The hydrophilic coating creates a water-saturated surface facilitating an easy advancement of the stent up to the ureter.
The Hydroplus coating offers a low coefficient of friction for ease of insertion. It softens on implantation at the body temperature to maintain patient comfort. It also improves the urine drainage in case of extrinsic blockage compared to traditional stents.
